A service assessment may cover system condition, seasonal performance, pressure and flow checks, filters and strainers, condensate drainage, defrost operation, sensors, controls, electrical isolation, hot-water settings and the condition of radiators or underfloor circuits. Northern Ireland’s Department for Infrastructure states that domestic air-source heat pumps may benefit from permitted-development rights subject to conditions and limitations, including being at least 1 metre from a neighbouring boundary and meeting the prescribed noise standard; the specific property should still be checked before work begins.

• Provide the full postcode, property type and whether the home is within Lisburn Conservation Area, near a listed building or subject to a planning condition.
• Record the heat-pump make and model, system type, installation or commissioning date if known, and whether it serves radiators, underfloor heating, hot water or a communal circuit.
• Photograph the outdoor unit, indoor controls, cylinder or buffer tank, visible pipework and isolators, while keeping access paths and electrical equipment clear.
